Clinical Research
Human clinical studies for Bacosane® are currently under process. This page will be updated with detailed protocols, parameters and findings once clinical trials are completed.
Clinical Trials Under Process
Human clinical trials for Bacosane® are currently underway and under process. All efficacy and functional properties reported to date are based on extensive in vitro assays and in vivo animal investigations. This page will be updated with human study endpoints, participant demographics, dosage protocols and clinical outcomes as soon as the trials are finalized and documented.
Preclinical research supporting clinical progression
The upcoming clinical evaluation builds upon three years of structured preclinical research across multiple validated models:
Anticonvulsant & Synaptic Signalling
Demonstrated 67% (50 mg/kg) and 84% (100 mg/kg) protection in PTZ seizure models, with modulation of GABAergic pathways and sodium channels.
Anxiolytic & Behavioural Activity
Dose-dependent anxiety reduction confirmed across Actophotometer and Elevated Plus Maze (n=6) tests in male and female Wistar rats.
Antioxidant & Free-Radical Defence
Demonstrated DPPH radical scavenging (IC50 150.50 µg/mL vs BHT 87.25 µg/mL) and support for endogenous enzymes (SOD, CAT, GPX, GSR).
Comprehensive Safety & Toxicology
Evaluated in acute (5,000 mg/kg) and 28-day sub-acute (up to 1,000 mg/kg/day) studies with no mortality, apparent toxicity, or organ abnormalities (p > 0.05).
Intellectual Property & Transparency
Bacosane® is protected under granted US Patent No. US 12,357,924 B2, Indian Application No. 202141036735, and PCT Application No. PCT/IB2021/059307. Patent protection reflects novel extraction and composition technology and is separate from clinical regulatory approval.
